Description

A small, elegant Kangxi teapot remarkably delicate and subtle in design. The base of the teapot has a low roundness of charming appearance. Furthermore the petite and curved snout possesses a neat mouth diminutive in size. On one side of the teapot a lakeside landscape is depicted. Quite apparent are the soft hues of blue created by the under glazed blue. Details of trees and a boat show execptional attention to small detail. The other side of the pot shows an arrangement of baskets containing various pieces. Here as well as on the lid of the pot is much use of geomteric shape and motif. These motifs show impressive handling of detail on a small scale. The lid has a bell like shape and is crowned with subtle blue handle.
