Description
These ‘Klapmuts’ Wan Li bowls are decorated on the back with birds. A similar bowl is to be seen in the Museum het Princessehof in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. These bowls are manufactured in Jingedezhen between 1595 and 1610. The four cartouches with flowers on the rim are embedded in a ‘diaper’ motive. The center of the bowls is decorated with various flowers.
