Description

On a cask sits a man holding his wine glass. He invites us to drink the wine from the barrel, that can be tapped through a silver faucet. These merry drinkers were very popular in the 18th century. There are also Japanese porcelain specimen known of this model. A fine example of such a Japanese edition after a Delft design is to be found in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
