ORMOLU AND PATINATED BRONZE MANTEL CLOCK America - 'Au bon sauvage'
Movement: The brass movement with anchor escapement and pendulum. Striking work on count-wheel with hour striking and one strike on the half hour. The going and striking work are both driven by a barrel.
Dial-plate: The round, white enameled dial with black enameled Roman numerals for the hours, and black Arabic numerals for the quarters, and stripes for the minutes. In the center the two brass fire gilt and engraved hands, the winding up holes and the black enameled.
The case: The movement within a brass fire gilt and round case. Set on top of the case a sitting figure of a native holding a spear representing America. All set on a patinated bronze base with fire gilt ornaments of cupids and garlands, and six toupie feet
