Four dials, ormolu bezels and enamel rings, the all concept stands on a black marble base. There is a good fitting glass dome to protect the mechanism. The main dial in the centre has Roman numerals, fine blued steel center-sweep seconds hand. 8-Day two train driven movement, countwheel strike, striking hours and half hour on a bell. Pin-wheel escapement. A Sarton-type gridiron pendulum. Subsidiary calendar dials below to indicate the day of week and the date. Lunar dial above with phase of the moon The moon phase dial is embedded in a landscape with mountains, a lake and Roman building. The clock is in it’s aesthetic and technical aspects a superb piece Derek Roberts ‘ Continental an American Skeleton Clocks’ page 171-181.
