Description
A rare and attractive French Empire ormolu and patinated bronze sculptural mantel clock surmounted by Nike, circa 1800.
enamel chapter ring with Roman numerals and Breguet hands, the skeletonised spoke centre revealing the 8-day movement with anchor escapement and half hour coountwheel striking on a bell, silk suspended pendulum, gilt case on clouds surmounted by the patinated figure of Nike with horn of plenty, shaped base with classical relief raised on bun feet.
