An attractive French Louis XVI ormolu mounted marble striking mantel clock, Hilger A Paris, circa 1780.
enamel dial with Roman numerals signed in Red Hilger A Paris, fine pierced engraved gilt hands, 8-day anchor movement with silk suspended pendulum and countwheel half hour striking on a bell, break arch (borne - shaped) white marble case with fine foliate pierced ormolu mounts surmounted by a urn, fluted quarter columns to the sides flanked by scrolls, shaped base raised on toupee feet
