A good English ebonized table clock with brass mounts made for the dutch market by James Smith London
Arched brass dial, engraved silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, pierced blued hands and foliate pierced spandrels, matted centre with date aperture and recessed silvered signature plaque signed James Smith London, moonphase in the arch with painted surround, 8-day fusee movement with verge escapement, rack Dutch half hour striking on alternating bells with trip repeating. The ebonised inverted bell top case surmounted by a handle and four berry finials, finely pierced wood frets to the sides, a brass mount to the front,the whole raised on bracket feet.
