A large and fine Dutch Frisian polychrome painted 'stoelklok' with moonphase, date and rack striking by Jurriaan Greve, circa 1780.

polychrome painted dial with Roman numerals and flanked by parrots, fine pierced brass hands and alarm disc, woodscape centre with date aperture, rose and tree spandrels with moonphase above, good brass movement with verge escapement, fine twisted posts and double top plate, rare rack half hour Dutch striking on alternating bells, with trip repeat, alarm on the large bell, the polychrome bracket with original carved mermaids surmounted by a gilt lead cresting, the whole terminating in a fleur-de-lis.
