Description
a 17th century walnut Renaissance foldingchair, a so called Dante-or Dagobertchair
A walnut Renaissance folding chair, a so called Dante-or Dagobertchair made of walnut upholstered with 17th century silk velvet. It is a Dutch chair inspired by the ancient Roman seats. You can see them regularly on Dutch paintings from the 17th century, especially by Jan Steen and on portrets from Frans Hals. Nevertheless they are very rare to find. This chair can fold only partial.
