Description
Lovely 'Chimeara' brooch made in France fully set with rose cut diamonds.
Lovely brooch designed as a Chimeara (mythological beast) on an arrow shaped pin. Made in France, ca. 1860 and fully set with rose cut diamonds.
The French juwellery artists Plisson & Hartz were the first to use the Chimaera beast as a motif in jewellery. They were later followed by ALPHONSE FOUQUET and many other French jewelers.
