Description

A pair of mirrors in two unequal parts. The finely cut frames are on the inside shaped as double stretched volutes. The volutes meet at the bottom where they merge in an elegant acanthusleaf.

The frames display the assymetrical carving typical for the Louis XV style. The best examples of Paris were so popular that they found their way throughout Europe. The individual mirrors are assymetrical, but as a pair the appear to be mirrored. As pendants they demonstrate symmetry.
