Description
An oval mirror in a carved gilt-wood frame. The frame has the shape of a large urn or vase. The base of the vase is cut with laurel and a beaded edge, on a perpendicular plinth. On two thirds of the height the mirror is divided by means of a vertical ribbon of engraved mirror glass. A charming and highly decorative object, strongly inspired by the classical motives that were ‘en vogue’ in the applied arts around 1800.
