Date: executed between 1 and 5 February 1919, when Masereel made a visit to Romain Rolland who was staying in the Hotel Byron in Villeneuve
The Parisian author Romain Rolland (1866-1944) went in 1914 to Switserland. He was one of the key figures of the pacifists in Genève and received the Nobel Prize in 1915.
