a Bokhara silk and cotton embroidered Susani
a Susani is an embroidered carpet which was made for a bride. This custom is found in 19th century West-Turkestan (now: Uzbekistan)and in this case in the town Bokhara. It is an early example with the very colourful flowerheads and plants. It is made in 5 narrow breadth.
