Lodewijk "Louis" Soonius, born in The Hague in 1883, he died in 1956. He lived and worked in The Hague, afterwards till 1930 in Veur and after Veur again in The Hague. Pupil of the Akademie van Beeldende Kunsten (Artschool) in The Hague. Louis Soonius was also a very gifted draughtsman. He was a member of the Art Group in The Hague. Louis Soonius painted and drew beach scenes with figures and animals, seascapes, city-views with persons and animals and female nudes. Works by Louis Soonius are in the National Dutch Artcollection.
