Hendrik Albert van Trigt was born in Dordrecht, October 22nd, 1829, he died in Heiloo, June 6th, 1899 (Holland). Pupil of the Artschool in The Hague (1845 - 1852), than he left for Paris where he studied till 1857, he was guided by Robert Fleury. He alternately lived and worked in Dordrecht and Antwerp (Belgium), in Antwerp he was a student of H.J. baron Leys. H.A. van Tright also lived in Amsterdam, Oosterbeek, Hilversum and Nijmegen. He is wellknown for his historic scenes, he also made lithographs. After 1890 he only made watercolours. Exhibitions in Amsterdam and The Hague. Works owned by the Rijksprentenkabinet and Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, Museum Dordrecht, Haags Gemeentemuseum, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, a.o.
