Eugène Joseph Verboeckhoven was born in Warneton 1799, he died in Schaarbeek 1881, Belgium. Student of his father Barthelemy Verboeckhoven (1759-1840) and B.P. Ommeganck. Painter of romantic landscapes, marines but especially animals. Eugène Verboeckhoven travelled in the U.K. and Germany but he especially liked Italy and the Roman landscapes. He was Director of the Museum in Brussels and a member of the Académie Royale de Belgique. Works in museums in Brussels, Antwerp, Gant, Liège, Louvain and Courtrai.
