J.H. van Mastenbroek, 1875-1945. Johan Hendrik van Masterbroek was an important painter of the harbour of Rotterdam, the Meuse and the Zuyder Zee Works. His work is a documentation of the technical progress in the harbour of Rotterdam after 1900. Van Mastenbroek prefered to work outside in rainy weather to see the beauty of the Dutch skies and its radiant colours. He was a very successful painter. Works in possession of museums in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, the Hague and Haarlem.
