Armand Jamar was born in Luik 1870, he died in St.Gillis/Brussels in 1946. Student at the Artschool in Luik, he had instructions from E. Carpentier. Except being a painter Armand Jamar was a barrister. He lived and worked in Belgium, France, Holland, Spain, Italy, Africa and the United States. Painter of portraits, landscapes, seaviews and interiors. Jamar was sensitive for the changing colour and atmosphere of the light. Realistic painter in an impressionistic style. Armand Jamar was teacher of G.W.J. van Apeldoorn.
