William SteeLink, Jr. 1856 - 1928 William Home (Wilm "," Wim ") Steelers Link, Jr. was born on July 16, 1856 in Amsterdam. His father is one of the main staalgraveurs at that time. Quite fast Steelers Link as an independent artist to work with historical subjects and as illustrator of the historical genre. Much publicity he gets even by his reproduction engravings of famous paintings by old masters . Worth mentioning are etching copies of Jozef Israels and John Bosboom. In the 80s there is a reversal of engraver and illustrator Link goes Stee focus more on the "new art" and begins to study the "Gooische Hei" . In this period as landscape painter he wanders the area. He works mainly in the vicinity of the Lunterse stream, Elspeet, Nunspeet and Vierhouten and Throw. It is this period that Stee Link real landscape painter, although he was in the gallery above this became known as "sheep-painter". In 1898 he live in The Hague, as a neighbor of HJ van der Weele, with whom he regularly pulls out at the Veluwe to paint. Stee Link died in Voorburg - November 27, 1928.
