Gerhard Arij Ludwig "Morgenstjerne" Munthe, born in Düsseldorf (Germany) in 1875, died in Noordwijkerhout (Holland) in 1927. Student of the Art School in Düsseldorf where he lived untill 1897, than The Hague, Katwijk, Zierikzee and Noordwijkerhout (Holland). Painter of beach views and marines, mostly with fisherman and fishingboats. Morgenstjerne Munthe had exhibitions in Arnhem, Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Leeuwarden. The Rijksmuseum Kröller-Müller in Otterlo has seventeen works by Morgenstjerne Munthe in stock.
