Maurice Paul was born in Bergen, Belgium in 1889, he died in 1965. After his artstudies Maurice Paul became interested in the lifely cities Brussels and Antwerp and in the modern beachlife on the Belgian seaside. Later on he moved to the French Côte d’Azur, here he found the colourfull motifs that suited his artistic ideas. The caracteristic houses, the crowded squares with the numerous restaurants, the typical fishingboats, the tourists and seaside-visitors. In the facile designed paintings Marice Paul gave his impression of the the scenes he saw.
