Henriëtte Knip was born in Amsterdam (Holland) in 1821, she died in Brussels (Belgium) in 1909. Student of her father J.A. Knip (1777-1847). Henriëtte Knip married with Teico Ronner in 1850, they settled in Brussels. At first she painted landscapes and all kinds of animals, than she gave all her attention to painting dogs and after 1870 Henriëtte Ronner-Knip
only painted cats and kittens in their different behaviour. Henriëtte Ronner-Knip had exhibitions in Amsterdam and The Hague. Works in various museums, a.o. Singer Museum Laren, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen Rotterdam, Teylers Stichting in Laren, Rijksprentenkabinet Amsterdam etc. etc.
