Johannes Evert Hendrik Akkerings born january 17th 1861 in Indonesia, he died April 12th, 1942 in Amersfoort (Holland). Student of the artschool in Rotterdam and The Hague. He lived and worked in Rotterdam, The Hague, Heeze, Scheveningen and Voorburg. After 1939 he lived in Amersfoort. Painter of still-lives and flowers, but he is specially known for his beach-views with fisherman. Works in possession of Museum Boymans-van Beuningen, Rotterdam, The Dordrecht Museum, Teylers Museum and Frans Hals Museum Haarlem a.o.
