Dutch Landscape painter, who lived and worked mainly in Belgium. He was born on 14th of May 1817 in Middelburg, in the south west part of The Netherlands. He started his study furniture-making and drawing at the MIddelburg Academy of Arts. In 1837 he took the opportunitie to continue his studies in Antwerp, Belgium, and decided to paint landscapes. He worked in Antwerp, Middelburg, Brussels and Mechelen. Already during his life, succesfull exhibitions were held from his work.
Abraham van Waeyen Pieterszen met the young Vincent van Gogh, who was in these days still in doubt whether to choose for a religious carreer or for a carreer as a painter. In the middle of advising Van Gogh about his future plans, Abraham van Waeyen Pieterszen fell ill and died. Shortly afterwards Van Gogh decided to carry on as a painter.
