Condition: the necklace remains clean and beautiful throughout with hairline surface scratches and fading relative to age. The gold plating is 18k to 24k because this necklace dates back to the 70s and Chanel used 18k to 24k at that time. Plating, regardless of quality, wears down with use and shows the metal underneath. Vintage jewelry that is 18kt or 24kt gold plated is highly valuable, since the brand discontinued gold plating a few years ago.
