After graduating from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 1980, Dam has always maintained a connection to pottery tradition, while simultaneously completely breaking free of it. Dam has increasingly explored the container form. The Kunstmuseum Den Haag has presented a retrospective of his oeuvre.
