Hans de Jong, 'Poldervaas', 1983, earthenware 1220 degrees, with a delicate and characteristic glaze.

Following the exhibition of ceramic works including those of Hans de Jong in 1984 at Kunstkammer Dr. Paul Koster, an article was published about the works that Hans de Jong had submitted.

'Principled, landscape-bound and enduring themes are currently visible in Hans de Jong's (52) work, who is incidentally at the peak of his career. On the one hand, there is the powerful round vessel shape that confirms the sobriety of his genre and on the other hand, the abstract decoration that is reminiscent of Dutch geometry, Mondrian and De Stijl.'
