Rare Atmos clock numbered 2713 in wooden cabinet , J.L. Reutter, France circa 1930. Cabinet in Art Deco style. Silvered dial with art deco style roman numerals, signed Atmos Pendule Perpetuelle, made in Paris, Brevets J. L. Reutter. With the original Atmos clockwork. Extremely rare with the open center.

The drum of the clock contains a mercury- and gas tube. Changes in weather conditions in particular temperature causes volumes changes. This generates a thermic in the barrel. The fluctuations and rotations are collected and the energy is used to drive the movement continuously. It is therefore called Pendule Perpétuelle. The invention was made by a French engineer, Jean Leon Reutter.
