A mahogany veneered case with engraved and silver-plated brass scale plates. At the top a rectangular scale plate with on the right side a mechanism for equalizing the mercury height in the column. In the center two scale plates on either side of the mercury tube. A thermometer with mercury and a thermometer with alcohol. At the bottom a glass mercury reservoir which is closed by a fire gilded bronze gate and two ornaments.
