An early mini balance wheel Lantern Clock, alarm, 30 h., England circa 1660.
A fine, important and catchy early mini English lantern. This 17th century lantern clock works with a balance wheel escapement, alarm on a bell with central alarm setting disk. The dial is decorated with floral engravings, the alarm disk ornate with a rosette. Clock with a single steel hand. Chapter ring with Roman numerals. Above the dial and on the sides are decorative pierced frets. The going and striking trains are weight-driven. Duration: 30 hours. By its seize and period a very particular clock.
