Arched brass dial with a silver-plated chapter ring with engraved Roman hour numerals surrounded by a minute ring and Arabic minute numerals every five minutes. Above the sixth hour a date window with behind it a silver-plated and engraved Arabic numerals. Below the twelfth hour an engraved and silver-plated seconds ring with seconds division and Arabic numerals. The blued steel hour and minute hand are cut openwork. Above the bar is a convex round brass plate, engraved and silver-plated with the signature 'Jn Turnbull Hawick', surrounded by cast and chiselled bronze ornaments and also cast and chiseled floral ornaments around the chapter ring in the corners.
