Description

Dial

The 11.5 cm by 8.5 cm white enamelled chapter ring has Roman numerals surrounded by a minute division. In the open center six ormolu spokes from the wheel of the chariot. Blued steel Empire hands.

Movement

8-day movement with anchor escapement and pendulum with silk suspension, half hour striking on a bell by means of locking disc.

Housing

A French ormolu Empire mantel clock after a design by Jean-Simon Deverberie (1724-1824), The sculpture shows a chariot pulled by two feisty Arabian horses with enamel eyes, a fire-breathing dragon forms the back of the chariot, above the wheel of the chariot is a shell with Cupid on it with a symbolic whip. A rectangular polished base with classic frames on the front, placed on claw legs.
