A French ormolu bronze Louis Seize mantel clock "Thiéry à Paris"
The Convex dial with beautiful enamel work has Roman hour numerals surrounded by a minute division and Arabic minute numerals. This is completely bordered with blue enamel, towards the center also blue enamel surrounded by gold colored enamel stars. Signed on the dial: "Thiéry à Paris". Fire gilded bronze Fleur de Lys hands.
Eight-day spring-driven anchor movement, has a pendulum with silk suspension. Bell percussion in full the whole hour and once every half hour by means of a locking disc. Above twelve an arbre for fine regulation.
The black console is supported by fire-gilded round legs. In the center a frieze with playing putti and a lion, the whole edged with appliques and pearl edges. The cherubim, each seated on a stand, carry the clockwork that is crowned by Bacchante: A female figure with a wine stem. An allegory of fertility and joie de vivre. The drapery of the stretcher depicts a cadudeus, a so-called Mercury fabric.
