The 11-cm enamelled dial with Roman hour numerals and a minute division with Arabic minute numerals around it. Signed Tarault à Paris, Faub st. Honore no: 24 ′. Fire gilded bronze hands.
Eight-day spring-powered movement with anchor escapement and silk suspension pendulum. Bell percussion in full the whole hour and once every half hour by means of a locking disc.
A fire-gilt bronze, hammered case depicting Psyche and her lover, which symbolize Inspiration. Psyche sitting on a chair intends to write on a slate the phrase "I love you and I am running from you." while love hands her a chalk. The timepiece is in a portico and is surrounded by a floral decoration, an amphora and a brazier. In the base we see a frieze with nymphs making music and supported by lion's feet. The mantel clock is in excellent condition with original fire gilding.
