White marble base on bun feet. The extremely beautiful detailed blue and white enamel decorations with gilded stars. Three skeletonised dials with the hours and minutes on the main dial; dates of the month and days of the week on subsidiary dials. The striking movement on bell and silk thread suspension. Nice gilded pierced hands, the pendulum bob in the form of a star.
This highly decorative 3-dial skeleton clock, with beautiful proportions, is signed by Folin L'aine a Paris. He is listed as working in Paris circa 1790-95 at the end of the reign of Louis XVI. The typical arched frame and cresting on the top were very popular at this time.
