An excellent windmill clock, by Guilmet, France circa 1890.
A gilt, silvered and paginated brass case with a marble base.
The tapered tower case houses a timepiece clock, a barometer and two thermometers.
The 8 day clock with platform escapement. The sails of the windmill are driven by an independent movement which is wound by opening the small door in the base.
André Romain Guilmet produced industrial clocks from the mid 1870s until circa 1910.
