Empire Gilt Bronze Mantel clock with a winged putto in a chariot Empire Gilt Bronze Mantel clock with a winged putto in a chariot

A fine gilt bronze mantel clock with a winged, slightly tilted forward putto in a chariot pulled by two butterflies. A flying drape attached under his breast covers the left shoulder and falls down to his legs. The chariot decorated with a lion head and a bird tail hightened with flowers runs on stylized clouds. The wheel forms the dial composed by a circular ring with Roman numerals surrounding some openwork vases with plants. The set rests on a rectangular base adorned with linear roses, flowers, foliage and butterflies
