Empire mantel clock, around 1820,
attributed to Gérard-Jean Galle, Paris, 1788-1746.
Height 62 cm.
A very beautiful mantel clock in the shape of the figure of the Greek goddess Pallas Athene.
She was seen as the patroness of the war heroes.
The quality of the mantel clock is expressed in the beautiful castings, such as the Medusa mask as a dial and the deep folds of the coat.
