No. 147. Very fine Empire mantel clock, chariot with deer and goddess Diana, Paris ca. 1810.
A fire gilt bronze mantel clock awarded to Diana, the goddess of the hunt, the moon and childbirth, with attributes bow and arrow on a chariot with a pair of deer.French 8 day movement, white enamel ring dial with Roman numerals. Oblong base with rounded edges and a relief decoration of garlands and allegorical scenes with horns of plenty, a faun and other symbols, border with pearls, base on six feet. Signed: J. B. le Blanc, Rue des Vieux Augustins à Paris. Excellent bronze sculpture, splendid composition. In a perfect condition.
