A stunning French Portico table regulator signed on the white enamel dial Champion à Paris is dated circa 1840. Accurate week going movement with pinwheel escapement, pedulum with knife suspension, center seconds is complimented by a gridiron compensated pendulum of very high quality. Pendulum lens contains in a fine made thermometer, indicates on the scale betweem: chaud, tempéré, froid. Striking train for hours and half hour on a bell. Case in the original birch wood veneers in superb condition, combined with narrow band or stripes of ebony. This is one of the fines potico-column regulator clocks.
