Description
A Dutch so called 'grootstaartschipper'. Friesland, c.a. 1840. This type of 'staartschipper' is much rarer than the type with the slightly shorter 'tale'. One-day mechanisme,weight-driven, striking on half- and whole hour. Alarm. In a very fine oak case, the hood crowned with 'Fame' and 'Atlas'. The tale is decorated with a 'Turkish knot'. Height: appr. 79 cm.
