Beautiful watercolour of a young lady walking with what appears to be her mother and while she is distracted by a little dog biting her dress, a young gentleman slides a love letter in her hand. A couple of young boys are watching the scene with amusement. Beautiful compostion on stairs with skyline of Venice in the background. Signed lower left by the well-known Italian artist Saccaggi who was greatly inspired by Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood, Symbolism and The Antiquity. Watercolour on Bristol marked cardboard.

Liter: Saccaggi is a watercolourist, pastellist, painter of portraits and genre scenes. He studied at the Academy of Turin where he was the pupil of Pier Celestino Gilardi. He then moved to Paris where he exhibited at the "Salon des Artistes Français". He was awarded a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1900 (for his pastel "Alma Natura Ave") and a third-class medal in 1903. Works in the San Gioacchino church (Turin) and in the Turin Museum.
