Encaustic painting 'Moss' by Anke Roder (1964). Anke Roder specialised in paintings with the encaustic technique, pigments mixed with fluid (bees)wax and then applied on wood with a hot spatula. Roder does this layer after layer, the intermediate layers egalised each time before applying a new layer. This still can be seen along the edges (see pictures).
SIgned on the back: 'Anke Roder MOSSEN XIII 2000'.
Her works can be found in many company collections in the Netherlands and private collections all-over the world.
