Plaster sculpture after the famous group of two wrestlers at the Uffizi in Florence, painted black to look like bronze. These plaster models were used in art academies for drawing lessons. They were also a favourite collector's item among travellers on Grand Tour. The model is made after the famous group from Roman antiquity that is now in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. That sculpture was disciverd at the end of the 16th century in a vineyard in Rome.
