This rectangular table cabinet with domed lid opens up to a silk lined compartment. The inside of the doors have mirrors and the interior reveals drawers and compartments overall inlaid with mother-of-pearl birds and flowers. One drawer contains sewing tools. The lower drawer has a removable writing desk including two inkwells with silver mounts.
The sides of the cabinet each have a different panel: one depicting a lion below a basket of fruit resting on scrolling foliage surrounded by foliage, flowers and a butterfly, the other with a vase comprising foliage and flowers flanked by two phoenixes, the back with a large panel of foliage, flowers, a butterfly and a phoenix, the top depicting a beehive, a putto playing a trumpet, a cornucopia and three peacocks surrounded by foliage and flowers, the body flanked at the four corners by columns with ivory rings and topped by acorn shaped mother-of-pearl finials, all on bracket feet.
