A Louis Quatorze Strongbox with a beautiful veneer of olive wood. This strongbox contains several secret compartments to hide the most important notes.
A strongbox was a type of traveling chest and these types of boxes were more common in England than anywhere else where they were fabricated between 1660 and 1720. The earliest proof of an existing strong box has been found on the inventory list of Edward Traherne, a renowned joiner and cabinet-maker who died in London in 1675.
