Spanish police have arrested four people for trying to sell a fake Pablo Picasso oil painting for €1.2 million ($1.5 million).
The original painting “Buste de Jeune Garçon” was painted in 1964 and carries official certification by Maya Widmaier, Picasso’s oldest surviving offspring. The counterfeit version of the painting was accompanied by false authenticity documents bearing the signatures of Paloma, one of the Spanish painter's daughters, and a renowned French art expert.
Three art brokers and a well-known Madrid antiquarian involved in the case.
