Miniature Türmchenuhr, Germany, probably Augsburg, ca. 1630.
This small Türmchenuhr, also called a tabernacle clock, has a fire-gilded case and silver dials. The dials are decorated with enamel, the frontdial has Roman numerals. Clock with two winding holes at the back, one hour hand. The going train has been converted to a pendulum. Striking mechanism on a bell. In the Renaissance, Türnchenuhren belonged to the wealthy citizens and were mainly built in Germany.
